Official Statement by Madhukar S Kamath

Declaration for Public Clarity

I Madhukar S Kamath hereby state the following:

1. I am the Founder, Promoter, Former Director and Chairman and current Chairman Emeritus of Abaran Timeless Jewellery Private Limited who are carrying on business under the trademark and brand name(s) ABHARAN, ABHARAN 1935, THE ORIGINAL ABHARAN, ABHARAN THE ORIGINAL and ABARAN.
2. I had started the first official and original branch of Abharan Jewellers, Bangalore in 1983 in Rajajinagar and subsequently opened the second official and original branch in 1985 in M.G. Road, with the help and assistance of my wife Smt. Srilakshmi Kamath and subsequent participation of my son and daughter in law.
3. I have carried on the business of Abharan Jewellers in Bangalore since 1991 in partnership with my wife Smt. Srilakshmi Kamath and subsequent participation of my son Dr. Pratap Madhukar Kamath and daughter in law Smt. Preethi Kamath.
4. Abaran Timeless Jewellery Private Limited will always have my endorsement and blessings and I am proud of the fact that my wife Smt. Srilakshmi Kamath together with my son and daughter-in-law have always adhered to the high standards and ethical policies followed by me.
5. I cordially invite all customers to visit the showrooms of Abaran Timeless Jewellery Private Limited at Mahalakshmi Layout, M.G. Road, J.P. Nagar and the Taj West End Hotel, Bengaluru and also their exhibitions conducted across the state, country and even internationally.
6. Abaran Timeless Jewellery Private Limited are the registered owners and users of the trademarks ABHARAN and ABARAN and their trademark certificates can be viewed here.
7. Abaran Timeless Jewellery Private Limited is THE ORIGINAL ABHARAN and I am the founder and promoter of the same.
8. Abaran Timeless Jewellery Private Limited have also obtained stay / injunction orders against Abharan Jewellers Private Limited and its Directors from defaming Abaran Timeless Jewellery Private Limited. The said order can be viewed here.
9. I have clarified all the aforesaid facts in my affidavit filed before various courts including the Karnataka High Court and my affidavit can be seen here.
10. Certain unscrupulous people are taking advantage of my advanced age and using my name to issue false statements and I request the general public not to be misled. These unscrupulous people are issuing false statements out of utter jealousy and helplessness whilst also being opportunistic.

This clarification is issued in the public interest to preserve the brand integrity and uphold the legacy built over decades.
